FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a cosmetic technique using a pen with very fine needles to create tiny micro-channels in the skin’s surface. It’s popular for smoother-looking texture, a brighter appearance, and better absorption of topical products during a session.

What’s the difference between microneedling and nano needling?

Microneedling uses small needles that gently engage the skin for renewal. Nano needling uses an ultra-fine, textured tip that stays more surface-level to focus on topical absorption with minimal sensation.

What needle depth does AcuMicro recommend?

0.5 mm is our go-to for most cosmetic sessions. It balances comfort, quick recovery, smoother-looking texture, the look of smaller pores, and excellent serum absorption. Deeper isn’t automatically better—results come from technique and consistency.

Does microneedling hurt?

At cosmetic depths like 0.5 mm, most clients describe the sensation as very tolerable. A light numbing cream can be used based on practitioner preference.

What is the typical recovery time?

Mild redness is common the first day. Most clients feel photo-ready within 24–48 hours and resume normal routines soon after.

How often should clients book microneedling?

A common cosmetic cadence is every 4–6 weeks. Many clinics offer simple packages for a series and easy maintenance.

Can clients wear makeup after a session?

Best practice is to wait about 24 hours before applying makeup.

Are cartridges reusable?

No—cartridges are single-use for hygiene and safety. Dispose of each cartridge after the session.

How do I clean the device?

Wipe the pen body with an alcohol disinfectant wipe after each use. Never reuse cartridges.

How does microneedling help an acupuncture clinic grow?

It attracts new clients searching for cosmetic services, adds premium packages, and often acts as a gateway—many who start with microneedling later try acupuncture as well.

Are AcuMicro-sponsored workshops approved for CA and NCCAOM CEU credits?

Yes. All workshops we sponsor are approved for California and NCCAOM CEU credits.

What is your warranty policy?

We offer a 2-year warranty on devices against manufacturing defects. Cartridges and other consumables are single-use and not covered. To start a claim, contact support at info@acumicro.com with your order number and photos.

How long does a typical microneedling session take?

Most clinics schedule 30–60 minutes per session, depending on the area and any add-ons.

Can microneedling be combined with LED light therapy in the same visit?

Yes. Many clinics pair microneedling with LED light therapy in the same visit as a simple, relaxing add-on to round out the session.

Do you offer bulk or clinic pricing on cartridges and devices?

Yes. We support clinic and bulk orders. Contact our team for current pricing tiers and lead times.

Do you provide marketing materials to help promote microneedling?

We are unique in that we offer live Zoom acupuncture CEU workshops to help with this. Start by attending the MDerm 101: Microneedling For Acupuncturists live Zoom workshop for a good start on how you can market microneedling in your current acupuncture practice. They typically happen every 2-4 weeks.

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 days. Due to hygiene, used cartridges cannot be returned. See our full policy for details.
